Mater Dei Win LEAD Award for Excellence

This morning, Mater Dei College won a LEAD Award for Excellence (Engagement) for Whadjuk Gift, a school initiative which seeks to engage students in learning about Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island culture to promote reconciliation and foster mutual understanding and respect between school communities and Aboriginal Communities in a culturally sensitive way.

Each year, the LEAD Awards endeavour to:
- Promote excellence in Catholic education
- Encourage school communities and individuals to share initiatives and best practice with colleagues
- Provide recognition for the dedication and innovation of individuals and teams in supporting children and young people to realise their potential
- Increase understanding and awareness of the achievements of Catholic schools in WA

A big congratulations to Mr Toby Hurd, the mastermind behind this annual event and all of our amazing staff involved.
