Mater Dei College Bus Services

Mater Dei College operates two private Bus Services for it's students. In 2019. Horizon will introduced a tap on/tap off technology implemented for the bus service at Mater Dei. Bus fares must be paid for through an online ticketing system with a minimum deposit of $40.00 - this equates to 25 bus rides or two weeks.

Parents are now required to register online for the bus service and approve for the College to provide Smartrider details to Horizon Bus Service prior to use. Please click on the “How to Guide” which walks you through the sign-up process; as well as adding your child and funds to the account.

Mater Dei College Bus Service T & C’s

The Mater Dei College dedicated bus service is offered as a service to the community to assist students travelling to and from the College on a daily basis. The two routes that are currently offered are the Landsdale Bus Service and Banksia Grove Bus Service. The Terms and Conditions of the bus services are below:

• Please ensure you have signed up to the e-ticketing platform and added credit to your account. Refer to the How to Guide for E-Ticketing and Bus App which is located on the College website.

• Download the bus tracking app to ensure you are aware of any disruption to services.

• It is imperative that your child is at the desired stop no less than 5 minutes prior to the scheduled stop time.

• Any abuse of the privilege of travelling on public transport while associated with the College may result in the privilege being withdrawn. Offending student or students may have to negotiate private travel arrangements in these circumstances.

• Please ensure your account remains in credit. The College will contact parents directly should insufficient funds be available. Frequent insufficient funds may result in students being unable to continue using the service and being required to negotiate private travel arrangements.

Explanation for Absence form

Should your child be absent from school or late arriving or need to leave school early, then the school will require written notification. A standardised form can be found here, on completion the form can be handed in at Student Services.

Application for Extended Student Absence

Parents are strongly discouraged from applying for extended student absence during Term time. Opportunities for holidays exist through the more than 12 weeks of scheduled school holiday time. If absent during term time, students miss out on valuable learning experiences and possibly assessments. If parents deem it absolutely necessary to remove students from school for any purpose then adequate prior written notice must be given. The Principal will review the information provided and consider whether the absence is Approved or Not Approved. In the case of a student absence that is Not Approved it will be deemed as non-completion or non-submission of any assessment tasks scheduled during this time of absence in accordance with the College Assessment Policy.

The Application for extended Student Absence during Term time can be found here on completion the form can be handed in at Student Services.

Change in Parent Details

Should your contact details change then the College needs to be notified as soon as possible. You may download the form here. Once it is completed, please scan the document and email Student Services. Alternatively, the form can be printed, completed and then handed in at Student Services.
