The mission of Mater Dei College is to prepare our students for life in a global community. We draw our inspiration to face all challenges from the example of Mary’s demonstration of faith, devotion and courage. Temporary Health & Physical Education Teacher 2019

Mater Dei College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Health and Physical Education Teacher to enhance the learning area and promote excellence in all aspects. The College is experiencing an exciting period of change and this position will be required to demonstrate an innovative and engaging approach to Health and Physical Education. Experience or the ability to contribute to the female AFL program would be an advantage, as would a Certificate II in Sport Recreation, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. We are seeking a teacher that contributes enthusiastically and positively whilst promoting the learning area to the College and wider community.

The Health & Physical Education Teacher will be required to:

  • Program for the learning area.
  • Plan thoroughly for each lesson.
  • Present material in a manner that will engage students and enhance learning.
  • Assess student performance formally in accordance with College policy.
  • Complete the formal process of reporting to parents in accordance with College policy.
  • Contact parents, at other than formal reporting times, when a student’s performance, achievement, attitude or behaviour is a cause for concern.
  • Meet deadlines set by learning area/College administration.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentially in all matters relating to the College.
  • Demonstrate punctuality in regard to professional life.
  • Complete reports accurately
  • It is highly desirable if the candidate has previous experience in delivering female AFL programs, Certificate II Sport & Recreation and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
