2008 has proved another wonderful year for the P&F, not only with the
participation of our annual social events, but also with the amount of funds we
were able to disburse to various groups within the College community.
As far as the events are concerned, the High Tea, and Father/Son night, were
well received by all who attended.
My thanks to Denise Mora, Diane Borello and Therese Quelch for again
organising the High Tea. They did a wonderful job as usual.
Also a sincere thanks to Terry Sampson who took on the task of running the
Father/Son night, again held at the Warwick Bowing Centre.
We had a record number for this event and I sincerely thank Terry for his
efforts.
Although we were unable to organise the traditional social night, which was
to have been a dinner dance, I can let you know that the committee this year
voted overwhelmingly to hold another quiz night in 2009.
So start reading up on all that trivia that may at the moment seem useless but
will surely come in handy in May next year. And remember to keep in mind that
last year’s quiz night was so popular that we had to turn people away. So make
sure you get your tickets early as soon as they are announced.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the Executive of the P&F,
in particular the Vice President Sue Russell, the Secretary Leanne Bruce, the
Treasurer Lou Papiccio and the Board Representative Enza Pasquale.
All these people put in a tireless effort.
I would also like to thank Kathy Mizzi for her unwavering support to the P&F.
Her experience and advice made my first year as President a lot easier.
The P&F also extends sincere thanks to Clement Mulcahy, Jef Middleton, Susan
Kinsella, Barbra Moyle and all the office staff from the College for all their
help and understanding.
I wish one and all a fabulous festive season and may God bless all the Mater
Dei families. We look forward to seeing you again in 2009.
